Episode 12 depicts the ‘worst day of Hannah’s life’. This starts off with her parents arguing about the WalPlex, pharmacy that has opened up in town that is ruining their family business. Trying to help them out, Hannah decides to offer to deposit the pharmacy’s money at the bank so her mum can stay at work. Hannah then heads off to the cinema on the way to hand in her uniform and receive her last pay check. Unfortunately, before she left, she had placed the money bag on the roof of the car which had fallen off during her journey. After back tracking and searching everywhere for the money, she doesn’t find it and has to face her parents. Her parents are angry, but not as angry as Hannah expected. Trying to right her wrongs she offers to pay back the money out of her own pocket but her parents decline saying that it was a mistake. Still feeling horrible, she decides to go for a walk to clear her head. After walking all over town, she finds herself at Bryce’s house after following the sounds of people and music. It turns out there is a party going on and they are all happy to see her, Jessica, Bryce, Zach, etc. They invite her into the Hot Tub that they are all in but it is not long until a few of them leaves and Hannah soon finds that it is just her and Bryce. Bryce tries to make a move on Hannah, she resists but similarly as he did with Jessica he forced himself upon her and Hannah is frozen with fear, unable to move. That was the final nail in the coffin. She makes her way home and starts planning ‘the tapes’. Who will get one and how they will be delivered.
After hearing Bryce’s tape, Clay decides that it is his job to set everything right and confront Bryce. After getting into a fight with him about the events of the night Bryce finally confesses that he did indeed, rape Hannah Baker.
